The Hornsea One OFTO is situated in the southern North Sea about 120km off the East Yorkshire coast.
The OFTO is a 1200MW connection between the generators and onshore transmission system
The three offshore substations are connected to a reactive compensation station by three undersea cables which are up to 84km long. The reactive compensation station is connected to shore by 3 undersea cables which are 65km which come ashore at Horseshoe Point, south of Grimsby. The onshore cables, which are about 38km long, connect to the onshore substation at Killingholme.
